the Far West is a region of countries to the west of the Sunken Sea region and the great forest of Lothlorien. Most of the countries here were initially established by high ranking or otherwise elite groups from Hernan's Great Army from the ancient human city of Isengaard. At the beginning of the Age of Magic, the Great Army was disbanded and a large number of high ranking officials decided to head west in a pioneering fashion to discover and establish new lands. As a result most of these lands follow a bit of an Austro-Germanic style with a few exceptions as listed in area descriptions below. The Far West tends to be its own entity with little interaction with the Sunken Sea region in the modern ages.
Vale of Lakondor - A heavily half-elven area, the vale was established by humans who were more aligned with the elvish way of doing things and allied themselves with the Elven Empire of Lothlorien. Though not densely populated, the area has one of the largest concentrations of half-elves on the planet, a good number of Sylvan elves and a host of humans who give off a very "tree-hugger" sort of vibe. Not an economic powerhouse in any way, but pretty self-sufficient and still allied with the elves of the great forest in the modern age. The Vale is #21 on the global map.
Thorl - Thorl is Thorl is #56 on the global map.
Kingdom of Thazool - Thazool is #57 on the global map.
Jandros - Founded by a ranking general working under the Field Marshall who established the Valley of the Horsemen, the Marke was established on the edge of the Qu'Ciel, homeland of the Winged Folk and Lothlorien and was named after the general, Jandros. Considered a marke, aka a borderland, the country is divided into ten areas each governed by a Marquis and each with significant control over their lands and people and generally only summoned together when the borderland is under threat. Managed by a yearly meeting of the Marquis with a Grand Marquis based in the capital of Gao being the 11th vote only when necessary as a tie breaker. Jandros is #63 on the global map.
Ostenaar - Perhaps the most "Scotland-esque" country on Al'Akwannon, Ostenaar has correlations with the very Irish feeling Ceithearn kingdoms of the Fey Kingdoms. Established by a group of two-handed sword (claymore) weilding, elite troops from the Great Army, they quickly established themselves as ones who should not be messed with. The country has a respect for nature and the druidic ways of the Isle of Veridiaan, but generally gets along with the surrounding nations and tends to work with the winds of trade pushed by Rothan and Eridaun. While they don't rake in as much money, by being trade allies, they have gained significant wealth and power. Ostenaar is #68 on the global map.
Rothan - The Dragon Kingdom, a powerful kingdom of knights descending from the famed Dragon Knight of Hernan's Great Army. Rothan is one of the most well developed nations of the Far West due to the care and investment of the Dragon Kings throughout the centuries. They have many established trade routes throughout the Fey Kingdoms, Far West and into the Great North. Generally the kingdom is well respected by the countries that surround them and it was one of the first western states to have the Emerald Sky build a tower and mage school. Rothan is #60 on the global map.
Blackmoor - After a dominating run under Hernan and leading the charge to eradicate a handful of defiant Morgul sorcerors, the arch mage of the Great Army took a small cadre of men west of Lothlorien and set himself up as a dictator of a border realm. For centuries the country has remained an enigma with few entering the area and few leaving, making many wonder about how they maintain their reality. Many think that the same arch mage governs the country, while others suspect a cadre of the wizard's apprentices are now in charge. Blackmoor is #59 on the map.
Eridaun - Established by the chief quartermaster of the Great Army, Eridaun quickly became a trading empire of the Far West. Strongly allied with Rothan, together they make for a significant portion of the trade that is generated in the Far West and extending into the surrounding regions. Eridaun and Rothan share a large bay where they both have port cities and although sea trade is not as prevalent along the west coast of the continent, those who know how to navigate the rough waters of the Endless Sea can make a good living. Managed by a triad of those who have a long history of logistics, Eridaun is one of the closest things to a democracy in the West and is #61 on the global map.
